NORFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- Hampton Roads welcomed the holiday season when Norfolk hosted the 32nd Annual Grand Illumination Parade on November 19.

The event was part of Holidays in the City, a yearly celebration that takes place for six weeks in Norfolk and Olde Towne Portsmouth.

The theme of the parade for 2016 was "Winter Wonderland."

After the Norfolk and Portsmouth skylines lit up, people enjoyed seeing floats and giant balloons, as well as performances by marching bands and dancers. The parade, which wound its way through Downtown Norfolk, capped off with the arrival of Santa Claus.

We'll re-broadcast the parade twice on ABC 13 during the holiday season: the first will be Thanksgiving morning, November 24th at 9 a.m. We'll then show it again on Christmas morning, December 25th at 7 a.m.
