NORFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- Nearly 3,000 third graders in Norfolk got an exclusive performance from the Virginia Symphony.

The Norfolk Public Schools students attended the performance at Chrysler Hall on Wednesday morning. The kids got to learn more about instruments, orchestra, and music in general. They are all things the conductor says are a fundamental part of human nature.

The Symphony puts on what it calls "Young People's Concerts" like this as part of its education program.

The concerts reach more than 25,000 students a year.
