VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WVEC) -- The 21st annual India Fest is returning to Virginia Beach this weekend!

The event, hosted by the Asian Indians of Hampton Roads, will feature Bollywood dance performances, yoga demos and an Indian bazaar with clothing, jewelry and other vendors. Children can participate in essay writing, poetry, art and Lego competitions, and more.

Free samples of Indian food provided by the festival's food partner, Nawab Indian Cuisine, at various times throughout the festival.

The event will take place Saturday, Nov. 12, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Virginia Beach Convention Center. Admission and parking are free of charge.

“Of course, the local Indian population looks forward to this event each year,” says AIHR President Himangshu Dey. “But we get a tremendous amount of support from all different demographics throughout Hampton Roads. It’s a great opportunity for us to expose our culture to others.”

Those who plan to attend the festival are encouraged to bring canned food donations to benefit the Food Bank of Southeastern Virginia.
