One father-daughter duo wanted to shake up the traditional wedding dance, and the result became a viral sensation.

Mikayla Ellison Phillips and her dad Nathan Ellison are surprised but happy about the attention it received.

She is a native of North Texas, and the wedding took place in Utah in early October.

Photographer Bethany Petersen captured the video and posted it on her business', BP Film & Photo, YouTube account. Their "epic song mashup" has more than five million views.

Peterson said Mikayla's father (a.k.a "Nate-daddy") wanted her to share the video online.

"I'm his only daughter, so it was his only chance to do something like that. It made me so happy to see my dad's dream come true," Mikayla said.

She was hesitant to do the dance at first because she doesn't like to be the center of attention.

Her family did not expect the video to be shared all over the world, however, Mikayla said it has been amazing to read positive comments from people who enjoyed their routine.

"The reason we decided to do the dance was because we both love to dance and have danced together since I was little. After months of convincing, I finally gave in. I'm so glad we did because it was so much fun, and everyone loved it," she said.
