VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WVEC) -- The Chesapeake Bay Wine Classic Foundation is hosting its 15th annual Wine, Women and Fishing tournament on August 20.

Women of all levels of fishing expertise can come out and cast their fishing lines to raise money for breast caner research at Eastern Virginia Medical School.

The fishing competition is from 8:30 to 3 p.m., but the real party gets started after that.

Women can participate in the Dock Party at 5 p.m. by watching decorated boats come in to the weight station while enjoying great refreshments and North Carolina Shrimp.

There will even be wine tastings and bourbon tastings by Breakthru Beverage Virginia.

After the Dock Party and all the fish have been weighed, an awards party with music and dinner will start at 7 p.m..

"The View" at Southside Marina is hosting the Wine, Women and Fishing event.

Trophies are given for first, second and third place. Awards are even given for largest tuna, dolphin and wahoo, as well as for the Craziest Crew, Top Junior Angler, Hard Luck Crew and Top Lady Angler.

Registration per team, six lady anglers on a boat, is $800.

With the registration each team receives receives an invitation to the registration party, six tickets to the all-inclusive awards banquet and a goody bag and t-shirt for each angler. Each team is responsible for charter fees and tipping, as well as any additional tickets for the awards banquet.

Registration is on August 19 from 5:30-7:30 p.m..

In 2016 they had a record breaking 40 boats participate and together they caught a total of 70 bill fish.
