RUCKERSVILLE, Va. (AP) - Firefighters in Virginia say four people died and two were critically injured in a house fire in the central part of the state.

Sean Ryan is Ruckersville Volunteer Fire Company's fire chief. He tells WHSV-TV that firefighters arrived early Monday to find smoke billowing from the roof of the house in Ruckersville. Ryan says firefighters quickly had the fire under control and started searches quickly.

Authorities provided no information on the victims. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
