WILLAIMSBURG, Va. (WVEC) -- Busch Gardens was temporarily closed Saturday after reaching capacity.

The amusement park took to social media to announce the possibility of a temporary closure around 4:30 p.m. warning fans that they were beginning to reach capacity.

Approximately an hour later an update was provided, telling customers that the park had officially reached its capacity limit and would have to temporarily close.

The park reopened approximately three hours later.

Many park-goers took to social media to complain about the issue. Saying that this problem has happened nearly every weekend in October. One person said that they waited in line for two hours, before being turned away.

October is when the Busch Gardens holds their annual Halloween event called "Howl-O-Scream." The park is revamped into an immersive horror-themed attraction. The event runs from September 23 until October 30. It is only open to the public on weekends through the month.
