NORFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- October 28 is Make A Difference Day in Hampton Roads and across the country, and 13News Now invites you to be part of it.

Make a Difference Day (#MDDAY) is one of the largest days of service to take place nationwide each year. Volunteers unite with a common mission: to improve the lives of others through a wide range of community-driven service projects.

Its success is made possible by you

13News Now will be making a difference at the Norfolk Animal Care & Adoption Center. The adoption center prides itself on taking in cats and dogs in need of care and a new home.

We want to make that easier by providing support to its staff members and giving them some essentials that will help them care for their animals.

From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., members of the 13News Now family will be working at the center as well as collecting supplies for it. The center is located at 5585 Sabre Road in Norfolk. You can drop off items there.

If you have the time, stop in and visit some of the animals. You never know. You may find another family member waiting for you!

The annual success of Make a Difference Day is made possible by you, the people of 13News Now and its parent company, TEGNA, and with support from Arby’s Foundation and Points of Light.
