NORFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- October 22nd is Make A Difference Day!

ABC13 will be making a difference at the William A. Hunton YMCA in Norfolk! On average they serve 130 kids, ranging from infants to 15 years old, a day. We'll be cleaning up, painting and doing upgrades in and around the building. When we're done, we hope to have created a better environment for kids to learn, play and grow.

Make A Difference Day is one of the largest annual single-days of service nationwide. Thousands of volunteers across the country unite with a common mission: to improve the lives of others through a wide range of coummunity - driven service projects.

Make a Difference Day started in 1992 and happens every year on the fourth Saturday in October. Make A Difference Day is made possible by employees of TEGNA with support from Arby's and longtime partner Points of Light.
