VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WVEC) -- A former Virginia Beach church worker who is charged with a sex crime is out on bond ahead of his trial.

A judge granted Jeffrey Bondi a $75,000 bond on Thursday. He had been in jail since January, and was denied bond twice before.

His lawyers had been arguing for his release, so he can receive treatment for Parkinson's disease.

Prosecutors say back in 2001, Bondi forcefully touched an 18-year-old girl. It allegedly happened while he worked with youths at Galilee Episcopal Church.

Bondi's trial is set for June.
