VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WVEC) -- A man connected to three crime scenes across Hampton Roads appeared on video for a court arraignment on Thursday.

James Gregory faces murder and attempted robbery charges. He was quiet and attentive throughout the brief hearing.

When the judge denied his bond, he chuckled and said, "I figured so."

Virginia Beach police arrested Gregory after a double homicide last month on Archives Court. Officers found the bodies of John Rathjen and Rayvonne Miles inside a home.

Police also linked Gregory to the shooting of a police officer in Hampton. He and two other men allegedly robbed a GameStop when the officer approached them, and gunfire erupted.

The officer is recovering.

Police connected Gregory to another GameStop robbery in Chesapeake earlier that day.

Gregory now faces multiple charges, including murder. He was appointed a public defender, and is due back in court on August 25.

Meanwhile another suspect, Leonard Morrison, had his scheduled arraignment postponed.

Court officials tell they have been unable to get Morrison to the courthouse, because of his condition. He's been in the hospital since he was involved in the June shootout with police.

Morrison is charged with attempted capital murder of a police officer.
