PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WVEC) -- Portsmouth Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred early Wednesday morning.

Around 4:34 a.m., authorities received a call about a robbery that just occurred in the Royal Farms at 3601 Victory Boulevard.

The suspect entered the business, with a gun in hand, demanded money from the clerk.

The clerk complied, and the suspect fled on foot.

No injuries were reported.

Police say the suspect is described as a light skinned black male who had the lower part of his face covered. He was last seen wearing red pants and a dark blue or black hoodie.
