FRANKLIN, Va. (WVEC) -- For the third time in less than a week, police are investigating a shooting incident in Franklin.

Police said shortly after 8 a.m. Friday, shots were fired at Dorchester Square Apartments. Arriving officers learned that an unknown person fired four rounds from a .40 caliber gun. One of the bullets went into an apartment, and narrowly missed a resident who was lying in bed.

No one was hurt, and there are no witnesses and no suspect information at this time.

On Sunday, the body of a person who had been shot was recovered in a pond near West Second Avenue. Then on Tuesday night, two people were injured and three houses struck by gunfire in the 300 block of Madison Street.

No arrests have been made in any of these shootings, and it is not clear if the shootings are related.
