U.S. Marshals working to track down murder suspect on the run for two years

U.S. Marshals are looking for 54-year-old Darryl Faine, who has been on the run for more than two years to avoid murder charges for a woman's death in Portsmouth.

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WVEC) -- U.S. Marshals are looking for a man who has been on the run for more than two years to avoid murder charges for a woman's death in Portsmouth.

Authorities are asking for the public's help in tracking down 54-year-old Darryl Reginald Faine, who is wanted for the murder of 26-year-old Monique Landis.

On Dec. 2, 2015, police responded to an apartment in the 3600 block of Gateway Drive in Portsmouth where they found Landis was fatally shot.

Faine was charged with second-degree murder and a number of other charges for this incident.

U.S. Marshals are looking for 54-year-old Darryl Faine, who has been on the run for more than two years to avoid murder charges for a woman's death in Portsmouth.

Investigators believe Faine may have fled to New Jersey after the murder and may have also spent some time in the Jacksonville area of Florida.

He also has ties to northern Virginia and Maryland.

Up to $1,500 is being offered for information leading to Faine's arrest.
