HAMPTON, Va. (WVEC) -- The Hampton University president met with student leaders and administrators Thursday after concerns were raised at a Town Hall meeting on Tuesday.

Hampton University's office of university relations released a statement with the headline: moving forward.

Issues covered during the meeting on Thursday included social issues, food services, facilities, and sexual assault which were all addressed during the Town Hall meeting.

Proposed actions include implementing a food service working group consisting of 10 students. These students will meet once a month starting in March to make food suggestions and discuss issues like food quality and facility maintenance.

The Title IX Coordinator agreed to provide students with additional educational sessions so they understand the process and feel comfortable reporting sexual assaults.
