ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WVEC) -- American Idol hopefuls in Hampton Roads, a four-hour-long drive may be all that stands between you and your chance at stardom.

Auditions for the reality competition program will be take place in Annapolis, Md. on September 5.

Annapolis is one of 19 cities that are stops on the American Idol nationwide bus tours that will look for music's next potential superstar. The bus tour, itself, begins August 17.

American Idol will have ABC as its new home when it returns to television. That means people in Hampton Roads and northeastern North Carolina will be able to watch the program on 13News Now.

People who can't make it to one of the audition locations still can have a shot at fame. They can submit audition videos through the American Idol page on ABC's website or show off their talent using #TheNextIdol on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter or
