NORFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- The winner of 7-Eleven's Women Franchise giveaway is opening her first 7-Eleven store on Friday, December 1st.

Evelyn Scott is opening her own franchise at 770 Boush Street in Norfolk from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The fun and festivities start with a ribbon-cutting and continue with 7-Eleven speakers, a military speaker, fresh food sampling, a Slurpee Costume, a raffle and many more food and sample giveaways, and more.

Scott will even be presenting a $10,000 check to representatives of her charity of choice, Oscar Smith Middle School.

This is the first 7-Eleven franchise giveaway exclusively to women. Scott was one of three winners.

The President and CEO of 7-Eleven, Joe DePinto, was so impressed with the three finalists that he awarded a store to each of the competitors.

She plans to run her business like she does her life-- with honesty, self-discipline, and efficiency.

“7-Eleven has graciously provided me the opportunity to engage in my community,” says Scott. “I am able to do so with an around the clock commitment to convenience and service for the customers who rely on our brand.”

Scott's favorite 7-Eleven products include 7-Select Pure Alkaline Water and Yosemite Road Moscato Wine.
