VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WVEC) -- Edgar Cayce is called by some a modern-day prophet. His 14,000 psychic readings are all preserved right on 64th Street at the Oceanfront.

The Edgar Cayce Association for Research and Enlightenment -- or the A.R.E. as it's affectionately called by those who have visited multiple times -- is headquartered in Virginia Beach, and is the place people go to connect to the dead and to have their current lives changed.

Its director, Kevin Todeschi, says it is better known worldwide than it is locally.

There are a total of 38 centers around the world dedicated to the 14,000+ Cayce readings that have predicted modern events or simply taught someone how to treat their allergies using more natural treatments. Todeschi is one of those people who no longer suffer from allergies after using the Cayce readings on allergies. He says he sees visitors from China and Egypt, mostly.

Todeschi says the center is a place where people can connect with their passed loved ones, get their auras read, listen to a lecture on the supernatural, or even have their ailments treated at their spa. The spa is located in the historical holistic hospital building on the grounds of 64th and Atlantic Avenue.

The medical director of the Cayce Hospital and Spa is a former Duke University Medical Center radiologist, Jo Adamson, MD, MPH, CMT.

Adamson says working in medicine for so many years led her to see how important prevention was. She says the center has an entire menu of therapies that can help ward off ailments and treat them naturally.
