NORFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- We've all been there: you're either at work or out in public, and you get a call you don't want others to overhear. Now there's new tech that will make sure you can take that private call without moving!

It's called "Hushme," and it's meant as away to combat those eavesdroppers you have in the office or on the bus.

There are two ways it shields your voice: first, there's insulated padding that masks your voice. External speakers will also obscure things even further. If you're in a crowded, noisy place, they'll generate masking sounds.

The CEO of the company behind the tech says those sounds will mix with your voice, no matter how loud.

“When you start to speak, it speaks with you. If you stop speaking, it stops, too.”

And you don't have to worry about hearing anything. Wireless earbuds do their part, making sure you only hear your conversation. No matter how loud you are or what’s around you, anyone on the phone with you will hear your voice as normal.

Hushme just launched a new crowdfunding campaign earlier this summer. The headset is expected to set you back around $200.
