YORK COUNTY, Va. (WVEC) --- A home security camera caught two men looking through cars in a York County community early Saturday morning.

13News Now obtained exclusive video from a homeowner in the Riverwalk Townes neighborhood.

In the high definition security footage you can see one man with a hat and jacket stop to look at the camera before opening a car door. He then digs through the car and opens the center console.

Shortly after that a second person pulls on a locked door of another parked car. The footage is from Corey Carden’s neighbor.

The second person you see in the footage is right in front of Carden’s drive way.

“It was definitely shocking,” said Carden. “Unfortunately, we left [our car] unlocked last night for the first time in six years.”

Police say around fifteen cars were broken into in total.

“Luckily the neighbors over there have very high-quality cameras set up right there,” said Carden.

Carden noticed the car door open cracked on his wife’s vehicle. He told us, “they opened the car. They went through the center console and the glove box.”
