WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (WVEC) --- All eyes were on Busch Gardens Wednesday for the first look at one the park’s newest attractions.

13News Now joined the media parade through the facility that houses Battle For Eire, a state-of-the-art virtual reality ride opening this spring.

“We are taking you to another place,” said Busch Gardens Vice President of Engineering Larry Giles.

Special, innovative headsets will give riders a 360-degree view of the mythological world rooted in Irish folklore.

Creative partners for the attraction say it features graphics and motion technology that people have never experienced at this scale.

“Way far and beyond what we could experience in a traditional sense,” said Jason Ambler from Falcon’s Digital Media.

It’s considered the first mass product virtual reality system ever created.

The ride is still under construction, so there isn’t an official opening date at this time.
