FRANKLIN, Va. (WVEC) -- Police said three homes were hit by bullets Tuesday night in a shooting that left two people hurt.

Emergency dispatchers received a call about gunfire in the 300 block of Madison St. shortly before 10:20 p.m. Neighbors told 13News Now they hit the floor to take cover.

Franklin Police Department spokesman Capt. T. W. Whitt said while the officers were there, they found out that two men showed up at Southampton Memorial Hospital with gunshot wounds. The officers tried to interview the 29-year-old and a 22-year-old, but both men were uncooperative.

Medics took the men to a local trauma center for additional treatment. Whitt said they were in stable condition.

No one else was hurt in the shooting which took place not far from a deadly shooting that happened Sunday evening. Police are looking at the possibility the two shootings are connected.
