CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WVEC) -- A car fire briefly closed a portion of Interstate 64 Monday.

Virginia State Police dispatchers received a call about the incident just before 2 a.m.

The car caught fire on the westbound side of the interstate just before the High Rise Bridge.

Chesapeake Fire Department crews put out the flames. Traffic was able to move through the area intermittently before things cleared up around 3 a.m.
