CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WVEC) -- Firefighters returned to the scene of a town house fire in Greenbrier hours after the left it.

Crews first were in the 1200 block of Basswood Court for a town-house fire late Sunday afternoon.

Less than 12 hours later, firefighters were back at the home. When they arrive around 2:30 a.m. Monday, they found smoke and flames coming from the town house. Crews kept the fire from spreading to other units and brought the fire under control around 3:15 a.m.

The person who lives in the home already was displaced because of the fire Sunday afternoon. No other people were put out of their homes.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
