CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WVEC) -- Laura Fitzpatrick has been named a new Deputy City Manager for the City of Chesapeake.
Fitzpatrick joins current Deputy City Managers, Dr. Wanda Barnard-Bailey and Robert Geis, and will be working closely with the leadership team on a variety of City initiatives and programs, in addition to sharing responsibility for departmental oversight.
“In filling this third Deputy position, we looked for someone with both a strong understanding of local government and the ability to work well across the many constituencies, internally and externally, which we serve,” said Baker.
Most recently, Fitzpatrick served as Assistant City Manager for the City of Hampton.
“I take a very service-based approach to my work and believe that service at all levels is at the heart of local government,” said Fitzpatrick.
