CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WVEC) -- Chesapeake firefighters are working to figure out what started afire involving at least two townhouses on Mill Lake Quarter in the Greenbrier section of the city.

Dispatchers tell us they got the 911 call around 3:11 Friday morning. Arriving firefighters found heavy smoke and fire coming from two townhouses. The fire was brought under control by 3:55, but there was extensive fire damage to the two townhouses, as well as minor smoke damage to a third residence.

No injuries are reported. A family of four has made arrangements for lodging, while another resident is being assisted by the Red Cross.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
