HAMPTON, Va. (WVEC) -- Police say a 75-year-old man died Wednesday after getting hit by a snowplow while working to clear snow from a business parking lot in Hampton.
This happened in the 1900 block of E. Pembroke Ave. In the parking lot there's crime scene tape and blood left on the snow.
Barry Hale, 75, suffered life-threatening injuries and later died at a nearby hospital after succumbing to his injuries.
Hale worked as a private snow-removal contractor.
New York Plowers, Joe Buttons said he knew Hale. "We all a tight knit community out here," said Buttons.
He said snow plowing is dangerous, "You know you can't see in the back of the plow. You know there's no mirrors or none of that stuff. It's a lot of screaming going on, and this is what happened."
