HAMPTON, Va. (WVEC) -- Police in Hampton say they have arrested the suspect in a deadly shooting from earlier in the month.

On the afternoon of October 9, officers found the body of 70-year-old Donald Burrell in his home on Somerville Drive. Burnell had been shot several times.

30-year-old Joel Burrell has been arrested and charged with one count of murder, one count of use of a firearm in commission of a felony, and one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He remains in custody at Hampton City Jail.

Police say the motive and circumstances behind the shooting remain under investigation. Police have also not said how the victim and suspect are related.
