HAMPTON, Va. (WVEC) -- Police are looking for the man they say robber a 7-Eleven convenience story early Monday morning in Hampton.

Police say it happened around 1:30 a.m. at the 7-Eleven located in the 2700 block of West Mercury Boulevard. Investigators say the suspect entered the business, showed a gun, and demanded money.

After receiving an undisclosed amount of money, the suspect fled on foot. He was last seen heading southbound on Tallwood Drive.

The suspect is described a black male, medium build, 170-180 lbs, 5'11" to 6 feet tall. He was last seen wearing a red and blue baseball cap, blue bandanna covering his face, a blue jacket, blue jeans, green and white boxer shorts, and black boots.

Tipsters can also send an anonymous tip via text message to the Crime Line by texting "HAMPTONPDTIPS plus your tip" to 274637 (CRIMES). Crime Line callers remain anonymous and never appear in court. If a Crime Line call results in an arrest, the caller is eligible for a reward up to $1,000.
