HAMPTON, Va. (WVEC) -- Police are looking for any suspects who may have been involved in the shooting of a Hampton woman on Tuesday night.
Shortly before 9:30 p.m., an officer on routine patrol heard shots fired in an area north of West Mercury Boulevard.
Police were directed to a home in the 2800 block of Butternut Drive, where they found a 64-year-old Hampton woman suffering from a single gunshot wound. She was taken to a local hospital with a non-life threatening injury.
Investigators said it appears the suspects fired multiple rounds into the victim's home, and she was struck by a bullet.
No suspect description or motive was immediately available.
