HAMPTON, Va. (WVEC) -- The threat of snow has led to the cancellation of a holiday tradition in the City of Hampton.
The 29th annual Downtown Hampton Lighted Boat Parade. originally scheduled for Friday, December 8, has been canceled due to inclement weather.
The forecast calls for clouds with a chance of rain and snow, and temperatures in the low 30s.
Little Doors, originally scheduled to perform at the event, will now play at The Bull Island Brewing Company located on the Downtown Hampton Waterfront at 758 Settlers Landing Road. The band will perform from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Other bars and restaurants in Downtown Hampton will remain open.
Meanwhile vendors for Saturday's Hampton Holiday Market will be relocated indoors to the Ruppert Sargent Building, located at 1 Franklin Street. That's about one block away from the Hampton History Museum.
The museum will remain the site for the elaborate train displays, face painting (11:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.), gallery tours, heirloom ornament making, and retro toys. Activities take place 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. unless otherwise noted. Museum admission is free 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Selfies with Santa will still be from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Hampton Carousel Park.
