Man grazed by bullet following shootout outside his home

The victim said he had been inside his home when unknown suspects began firing rounds at each other outside. One of the rounds entered his home and grazed the victim.

HAMPTON, Va. (WVEC) -- A Hampton man is recovering after a stray bullet from a nearby shootout entered his home and grazed him.

Police say the shooting happened around 9:45 Tuesday night in the 100 block of Tanglewood Drive. The 56-year-old victim was taken to a local hospital to be treated for a non-life threatening injury.

The victim said he had been inside his home when unknown suspects began firing rounds at each other outside. One of the rounds entered his home and grazed the victim.

No other injuries are or property damage were reported. The motive and circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation, and no suspects have been identified.
