HAMPTON, Va. (WVEC) -- Police said a Taser couldn't stop a woman accused of assault who also attacked a police officer Tuesday.

Emergency dispatchers received a call about the initial assault around 4 a.m.

When officers got to the 1600 block of Aberdeen Rd., they found two people who were involved, including 55-year-old Margaret Yvonne Taylor.

Officers said when they tried to take Taylor into custody, she resisted and struggle with them. One officer used a Taser, but it had no effect on Taylor.

The officers continued to struggle with Taylor. At that point, they said she kicked an officer in the chest.

Taylor, whose last known address is the 2100 block of East Pembroke Ave. faces charges of Assault and Battery, Resisting Arrest, and Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer.

Late Tuesday morning, she was in the Hampton City Jail.
