NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WVEC) -- A federal grand jury indicted three people for a robbery and murder that took place more than eight years ago.
A spokesman for the U.S District Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Virginia said the indictment, which was unsealed Wednesday, said that Bryan Brown, 30, of Newport News, Mark Wallace, 36, of Williamsburg, and Joseph Benson, 35, of Dorchester, Mass., shot and killed Louis Joseph on March 13, 2009 in Newport News.
Louis' online obituary said he was born in New York City on December 14, 1968 and moved to Virginia in 1975.
"Lou Dog", as his friends called him, "loved to cook and while still in high school, he served as an apprentice to some of Williamsburg's finest chefs. He loved hosting weekend barbecues and sports watching parties with his family and friends."
If convicted, Brown, Wallace, and Benson could face life in prison.
A federal district court judge will determine any sentence after taking into account the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.
