NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WVEC) -- Frederick Clark Jr., 29, has been arrested and charged in connection with two separate sexual assaults.

Newport News police said the first assault happened on Sept. 13 when the victim said she was approached by Clark around 10 p.m. at a bus stop. Clark displayed a handgun and forced the victim to come with him.

Police said Clark led the victim to a nearby shopping center where he sexually assaulted her before taking her ID card and fleeing the scene.

The second incident occurred on two nights later around 12:52 a.m. in the 300 block of Old Courthouse Way.

The second victim told police Clark exposed himself while he stared at her. He then approached her vehicle and began to sexually assault her while holding a gun to her head.

Clark forced the second victim to start driving. She was able to jump out of the vehicle before it crashed and Clark took off running.

The second victim was not injured during the crash.

Clark is charged with rape, abduction, sodomy, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, carjacking, robbery, possession of firearm by felon, aggravated sexual battery and sexual display: masturbation.
