NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WVEC) -- Police say an officer was injured after being involved in a crash Tuesday afternoon at the intersection of Jefferson Ave. and 29th St.
Investigators learned the driver of a 2002 Dodge Stratus was traveling southbound on Jefferson Ave. and attempted to make a left-hand turn on eastbound 29th St.
The officer was driving northbound on Jefferson Ave. when the crash happened.
The extent of both the Dodge Stratus driver and the officer's injuries are unknown at this time, but they were transported to the hospital for treatment.
Authorities are working to learn more about the crash.
