Two juveniles injured in Newport News auto-pedestrian accident

Police said the driver had a green light and the right of way.

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WVEC) -- Two juveniles were involved in an auto-pedestrian accident Sunday.

Police said they responded to the incident around 11:45 a.m. at Main Street and Jefferson Avenue.

It was reported that three juveniles were attempting to run across Jefferson Avenue without being in the crosswalk. Two of them were hit by a pickup truck traveling northbound that had the right of way.

The driver was not injured and remained at the scene.

One of the teenagers was clipped by the vehicle and the other was struck.

The juveniles were taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
