NORFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- Fire officials in Norfolk say no one was injured during a house fire Saturday.

Firefighters were dispatched to 121 Effie Street at 11:30 a.m. They arrived to find a fire on the outside of the home.

The fire was extinguished and crews checked the home's attic for possible fire extension. Nothing was found.

One resident of the home was present at the time of the fire and got out safely.

The fire was under control at 11:48 a.m. and is believed to have been caused by discarded smoking material.
