NORFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- A grand jury has indicted a 19-year-old on a second-degree murder charge after he allegedly killed a Maury High School student in May.

Lamontraye McAdams, 19, was charged with the murder of his girlfriend 18-year-old Nateria Powell.

McAdams was indicted Wednesday on a second-degree murder charge and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Powell was shot in the face on Lead Street on May 21.

Prosecutors said McAdams' Facebook page featured people showing gang signs. They also stated that McAdams had been known to show people the gun involved in the shooting prior to Powell's death.
