Man taken to hospital after couch catches fire in Norfolk house

Norfolk firefighters arrived around 6:44 a.m. Thursday in the 600 block of Lenox Avenue to a small house fire where they found a man in the hallway.

Norfolk firefighters arrived around 6:44 a.m. Thursday in the 600 block of Lenox Avenue to a small house fire where they found a man in the hallway.

Norfolk Fire and Rescue are cleaning up after battling a small house fire Thursday morning, according to fire and rescue's tweets.

Firefighters arrived around 6:44 a.m. in the 600 block of Lenox Avenue to the house fire. Inside they found a man in the hallway. The man was transported to a local hospital.

A woman evacuated and was not injured. Norfolk Fire and Rescue tweeted that the fire isn't considered suspicious. A couch fire was the cause, fire officials tweeted.
