NORFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- Police now say five people were injured in addition to one person killed at a weekend house party in Norfolk.

Just before 3:30 a.m. Sunday, dispatch received a call for two people possibly suffering from gunshot wounds at the corner of E. Princess Anne Road and Monticello Avenue.

When police arrived, they discovered two men suffering with serious but non-life threatening gunshot injuries. Medics took the men to the local hospital.

Moments later, police were dispatched to the 1500 block of Azalea Garden Road for a person suffering from a gunshot wound.

Once authorities arrived they found a large crowd inside an apartment and an adult male with an apparent gunshot wound.

The man, Maxie Mock, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Around 3:35 a.m. an adult woman walked into Sentara Norfolk General Hospital and an adult man walked into Sentara Leigh Hospital. Both had non-life threatening gunshot wounds.

Finally at about 5:30 a.m., detectives were notified that a 26-year-old woman walked into Sentara BelleHarbour Hospital in Suffolk suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

Police have confirmed that all six people were shot during a party at the 1500 block of Azalea Garden Road.

No suspect or motive is available at this time.
