NORFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- A person who walked into the hospital with a gunshot wound faces charges in connection to a shooting that injured a man and a 12-year-old girl.

The shooting happened in the 3200 block of Peronne Avenue just after 10 p.m. on Tuesday. When officers arrived, they found a man and a 12-year-old girl who had gunshot wounds.

That girl is Jon Stiffler's neighbor.

"It looks like it grazed her in one arm and went in and lodged in the other arm," he said. "She was scared, obviously she just got shot."

Medics took the 12-year-old and the man to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. Both should be okay.

A third person walked into the hospital a short time later. Hey, also, had been shot. That person, 18-year-old Thomas Q. Hairston of Norfolk, was identified as the suspect in the shooting that injured the girl and man.

Stiffler's security camera caught the moments leading up to the gunfire. Police believe it started as an argument.

Hairston is in the hospital in critical, but stable condition. Police said once he is discharged, take him to Norfolk City Jail and charge him with two counts of Malicious Wounding and two counts of Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony.
