NORFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- A man is in serious condition after being shot a McDonald's in Norfolk on Saturday.

Norfolk police said officers were called to the restaurant located at 745 Newtown Road around 11:30 p.m. for a report of a shooting. They arrived to find a man is his twenties suffering from a gunshot wound inside the restaurant. Medics took the man to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in serious condition.

After investigating, police found the victim and another man were involved in an argument when the shot was fired. The suspect then fled the scene before officers arrived. He has been described as a black man, last seen wearing a black shirt and black pants.

No other injuries were reported.
