PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WVEC) -- A barricade situation in Portsmouth's Olde Towne has come to a peaceful resolution, with the suspect in custody.

The original call at the location in the 300 block of North St. was a fire call. The nature of the situation quickly changed.

Court Street Academy was put on lockdown as a result.

Tidewater Community College spokeswoman Vicki Friedman told 13News Now the school's Visual Arts Center on High Street was on a brief lockdown. Once the center lifted the lockdown, it resumed its normal business.

At about 11:45 a.m., police said the suspect had been taken into custody, and no injuries were reported.

No other information was immediately available.
