PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WVEC) -- The Portsmouth Police Department is holding an emergency blood drive to support an officer who was shot five times while she was on duty.

A 15-year-old boy is accused of trying to murder the officer when she tried to take the runaway into custody on Monday.

The blood drive will take place on Monday, November 13 at the police department's training division which is located at 309 Columbia Street (the corner of Columbia and Court streets).

The hours are from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
