SUFFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- Detours went up after a log truck overturned Friday morning in Suffolk.

Police and fire crews responded to the 8300 block of Gates Road after receiving a call around 10:49 a.m.

City officials say the driver and only occupant of the truck, 41-year-old Lamont Leathers, of Edenton, N.C., was not injured in the accident. He was ticketed for reckless driving.

Fire and rescue crews cleaned up a minor fuel spill at the scene.

Suffolk Public Works put up signs in place on Corinth Chapel Road at Gates Road and Camp Pond Road. The roadway was closed for several hours as crews continued cleaning up the load and remove the truck from the road.

The road had reopened to all traffic by 4 p.m.
