SUFFOLK, Va. (WVEC) - A man was injured Saturday afternoon after experiencing what was described as a "hard landing" during a skydive.

According to a city spokesperson, this happened just before 4 p.m. at Suffolk Executive Airport. The skydiver, a 29-year-old man, was executing an advanced jump when he landed hard.

After receiving emergency medical assessment and treatment by Suffolk Fire & Rescue personnel, he was airlifted by Nightingale to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital suffering from what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

13News Now reached out to Skydive Suffolk, which was in charge of the jump, but they declined to comment.
