VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WVEC) -- A nearly half-billion dollar project could replace the Independence Boulevard interchange at Interstate 264 by 2040. But city leaders in Virginia Beach want it done in the next 10 to 15 years, instead.
Nearly a third of vehicles going east on I-264 exit here, which often leads to nasty back-ups and wrecks.
City planners say things are just going to get worse.
Now it's up to the Hampton Roads Transportation Planning Organization to fund the project.
