VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WVEC) -- An emergency shelter in Virginia Beach closed at 4 p.m. Friday as most residents had their power restored following Thursday's winter storm.
The city of Virginia Beach has opened up Landstown High School as a shelter on Wednesday night, after tens of thousands of residents lost power. More than 25 people took advantage of the facility.
Temperatures will remain below freezing through the weekend, so the city encourages citizens to check on elderly or homebound neighbors, family, and friends.
