VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WVEC) -- Some fishermen made quite the catch at the North End Oceanfront on Wednesday morning.

Pictures posted on Facebook by Jordan Nicole show two fishermen snagged a sizable shark with their fishing poles! She added the poles were not cast very far, so the animal must have been close to shore.

An expert at the Virginia Aquarium and Marine Science Center said the shark was a Sand Tiger Shark, a species which is not dangerous to humans.

Nicole said in a follow-up comment to her Facebook post that the fishermen released the shark back into the water.
